I was knitting bullet train speed towards the toe of Sock One, feeling so smug, so proud, so very pleased with myself at my cleverness. Look at me! I can knit socks! Already trying it on. Showing it off. So completely satisfied. All those yummy feelings giving life to Sock One.
But these are end-of-project feelings. These are NOT not-even-half-way-through-a project feelings. And there's the problem. Satisfaction comes too early with socks. Satisfaction comes with sock singular, eliminating the need for any more satisfaction, err, socks. There is only one thing for it. STOP knitting Sock One BEFORE it is finished. Cast on for Sock Two. Voila! A cure!
